Jamie McAlister was born in Canberra in 1977 and raised on the Gold Coast where he was originally trained as a Graphic Artist at The Queensland Institute of Graphic Art & Design. Whilst working as a graphic artist Jamie was occasionally required to pick up a camera to provide photographs for certain clients. It was this small introduction into the world of photography and video that introducded Jamie to the world of photography.

Moving into photography and video was a natural step after studying design at the institute and has taken Jamie to many overseas destinations to experience many different and diverse cultures. Traveling to places like Japan, Indonesia and New Zealand, Jamie's photographic experience includes Sumo Wrestling in Tokyo, Bengal Tigers in captivity in Japan,  Monkeys in the forests of Ubud, beautiful landscapes on the South Island of New Zealand in places like Queenstown, Dunedin and Christchurch and also the breathtaking sunsets that Bali has to offer.

Jamie has seen it all as a wedding photographer and videographer, his experience in digital video editing and photo manipulation shows in his portfolio and Jamie's unique candid approach to wedding photography guarantees that natural reaction every time. under Jamie's direction you'll hardly even notice he's there.
